My dog has not boarded before, how will they cope at Petcare Extraordinaire? [-]
We take special care to assist your pet in adapting and coping with it's new environment. Our wonderful staff will focus on giving your pet the caring attention to build its confidence as it adjusts to what for many pets can be an exciting environment. For some it can take a few days to get aclimatized but before you know it they are keen to see who else is around.
What are your vaccination requirements? [-]
For dogs we require C5 vaccination which includes Distemper, Hepatitus, Parvovirus, Bordatella and Parainfluenza. Please note that C3 or 3 in 1 does not meet our requirements. If your dog has had this vaccination in the last 12 months then you will need to organise to have the Parainfluenza and Bordetella injections and boosters or intranasal application which could be required two weeks before your planned boarding date. Similarly note that C4 or 4 in 1 does not meet our requirements and if your dog has had this vaccination in the last 12 months then you will need to organise to have the Bordetella injection, booster or intranasal application which could be required two weeks before your planned boarding date.It is most important that you check this with your vet and get your certificate. Please contact your vet for more information. For cats the minimum requirement is F3 as this vaccination covers Cat Flu and Feline Enteritis. We would recommend that if it is close to re-vaccination date that you plan to have this vaccination carried out one week prior to boarding. Please contact your vet for more information. We also require your cat to be desexed.

Do I need to bring my pets bedding and toys? [-]
At Petcare Extraordinaire we provide everything for our boarders. We prefer that you don’t bring your own bedding or possessions, as they can get lost, soiled and damaged. If you, however, really want to bring your dog’s own bedding/toy, you can do so, as long as you are prepared for them to be damaged or destroyed - please only bring things you are not attached to. However in winter you are welcome to bring your pets coat if they wear one or we have a selection to buy or hire
Why is Petcare Extraordinaire closed on public holidays? [-]
At Petcare Extraordinaire we have opted to focus on the care of our boarders and unlike many boarding kennels in the industry really focus on enrichment while our customer’s pets are here. On government designated public holidays due to double time and a half penalty rates we have had to make the hard choice that the labour we have designated for those days should be focussed on the care of the boarders here rather than operate the office and we make no apologies for that. I think you will find that most other small kennels like ours have restrictive drop off and pick up times on all days of the week. So being open 7 days a week apart from public holidays means we try within the bounds of costs to be flexible for pick ups and drop -offs.To facilitate a pick up on the day after a public holiday we have team members here from 7am and open the office from 8 am and close at 5pm. You are welcome to come in between 7am and 8am however our gates are closed for the teams to focus on cleaning and you will need to organise with us before the day and ring when you arrive. If those times don’t work we can always organise a drop-off for a small fee.<
